Devon wanted to do something special for his daddy so he put this together and asked me to show it to daddy when we went out for Brian's birthday dinner. Brian said this was the best birthday present he had ever received and he had the biggest grin on his face.
I got this idea from one of my friends and I thought it was the cutest thing ever. At this age, they don't move around much and Devon was so cooperative. I started with one and just kept going until I ran out of supplies;). Yes, I had too much time on my hands..hahaha.
My mom was here shortly after Devon was born to help us out with the little guy. We wanted to capture every moment with him so Brian decided to put his photography skills to the the test. Great job, Brian!!
We decided to take Devon to a photo shoot when he was 10 days old since we were told that babies at this age do not move around much and much easier to put them in certain poses. We took Devon to our friend's studio and they made our little guy into a star.
Today I am 37 weeks and I was working from home so I went to pick up our new SUV today to prepare for the arrival of our baby. His due date was expected to be around December 2, 2013. While I was at the dealership, I felt some cramps which I thought were just Braxton Hicks, which are just false contractions. When I arrived home safely, these contractions were happening quite frequently and then Brian came home. I was showing Brian the new car and he suggested that we should go to the hospital since the contractions were happening every 5 mins. When we arrived at Rockyview hospital around 8pm, I did not feel alot of pain or discomfort when the the nurses came in to check up on me. To our disbelief, I was already 7 cms dilated and was admitted right away. I didn't even have my hospital bag completely packed. The doctor came in to check on me and my water broke. I was taken into the delivery room and was in a lot of pain, but I had the support of my doula and Brian which helped alot.
At 1:01am, our little miracle was born and he was the most amazing human being that we had created. I did not get an epidural and I did not cry from the pain from the contractions or from the birth, however, when they handed me our little boy, both Brian and I shed tears (only a few drops of course;)) of happiness to see the most amazing gift that had been given to us. Devon Henning Woo entered the world at weighing 6lbs, 11 ounces and he was 53.50cm long. He was beautiful and it was definitely a moment to remember for the rest of our lives.
